RESEARCH

I am a PhD candidate in the Digital Culture and Creative Industries with background in art and media theory. During the spring semester 2022, I am at Oslo Metropolitan University as a resident research fellow, involved mainly with project Future of Living Technologies. The PhD research focuses on approaches to working with and for the non-human actors from perspectives of posthumanism and flat ontology.

posthumanism - object-oriented ontology - feminism - critical posthumanities - interdisciplinarity - artistic interventions - contemporary art production - bio art - synthetic biology

The PhD research explores artistic interventions in the field of synthetic biology or synthetic ecology. More specifically, it draws on thinking about the categories of technology and nature and their interconnection such as posthumanism, as well as approaches to the redefinition of humanity and the status of non-human entities, including flat ontology. Two of the main answers this research is aiming to provide are on (1) ways of working with and for the non-human actors, (2) how to better describe the “horizontal” relations between human and non-human actors.
